Renting a Car at Podgorica Airport: The Complete Guide

How pick-up works at Podgorica Airport
Podgorica Airport (IATA code TGD) is Montenegro’s main airport, about 11 km south of the capital. It is a small terminal, so there is no shuttle bus to a rental lot and no queue at a desk: we bring the car to you.
When you land and leave the arrivals hall, our staff member is waiting in front of the terminal holding a sign with your name. The car is parked close by and ready to go. You check it together, sign the contract and drive off.

What you need to rent a car
The requirements are short and the same for every car in the fleet. Additional drivers must be registered when you book and meet the same conditions.
- Minimum age: 18.
- A valid driving licence, the one you enter when booking.
- A passport or national ID card, shown at pick-up.
- No credit card deposit: nothing is blocked on your card.
How much does a rental car at Podgorica Airport cost?
Prices are per day and depend on two things: the season and the car class. Our price lists run on a fixed calendar. Off-season is 1 October to 19 December and 10 January to 15 April; season is 16 April to 30 September and 20 December to 9 January.

Insurance: what is included and what is optional
The basic insurance required by Montenegrin law is included in every rental.
Full insurance is an optional extra that you can add when booking. With it, damage to the car is covered in full with €0 excess; tyres are the one exception. For full insurance to apply, any damage, however small, has to be reported to the police and the official police report handed over to us, so call us straight away if something happens.
Fuel and returning the car
The fuel policy is same-to-same: you get the car with a certain fuel level and return it with the same level.
You choose the return location when you book. You can return at Podgorica Airport, or at Tivat, Tirana or Dubrovnik airport, or in Bar. If pick-up and drop-off locations have different daily rates, the higher of the two applies, and you see it in the price before you confirm.
Delivery to other airports
Many guests fly into Tivat, Tirana or Dubrovnik instead of Podgorica. We deliver to all four airports free of charge and meet you the same way, with a sign with your name. Only the daily rate differs by location.
Changing or cancelling your booking
You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before pick-up. Changes to dates or car are possible subject to availability; any price difference is settled when the change is confirmed. The full rules are on the cancellation policy page.

Is there a car rental desk inside Podgorica Airport?
We do not use a desk. Our staff member meets you in front of the arrivals terminal with a sign with your name and hands over the car right there, so there is no queue.
